We’re made-up to be back working in libraries and helping to spread maker activities and learning around the North West. This time we are teaming up with Wirral Libraries on their Make It! In Libraries that will see different Makers In Residence pop-up doing amazingly creative stuff in libraries across their area. Our role in this project is to deliver a Continued Professional Development (CPD) programme alongside these residencies to support library staff and volunteers to develop making skills.

The CPD programme will be a series of sessions that aim to support Wirral Libraries to:

  • Develop basic maker skills in a range of disciplines
  • Equip them with core creative enterprise skills

The skills developed in across these sessions will support Wirral Libraries to continue the Make It! In Libraries initiative post-funding, by equipping them with the skills needed to deliver basic maker sessions for library users in the future, as well as the expertise required to support the Make It! In Libraries pop-up shop exhibitions. What’s not to love?

To deliver this innovative programme we will be teaming-up with an A-team of makers, such as Little Vintage Photography and Laura Pullig, to help us train-up Wirral Libraries in areas such as photography, e-textiles, stop-motion animation, printing and 3D designs. Running alongside this, the wehearttech core team will be delivering creative entreprenership skills workshops in areas such as branding, graphic design and social media communications. Watch this space to see how the project progresses!
