This year we’ve got back into the swing of things with the Get It Loud In Libraries Academy, supporting young people to develop media skills via a mixture of workshops and on-the-job training.
We started the year at Coventry Central Library with the amazing Fontaines D.C., then it was onto Lancaster Central Library for B.C. Camplight’s gig and then earlier this month we were in Birkenhead Library for Pip Blom. Whilst “on the road” we were busy training young folk in skills such as photography, video recording, interviewing techniques and social media marketing. Working with the young folk we produced photo sets of the gigs and short videos from behind-the-scenes and interviews with the artists. You can see them on our Vimeo channel.
What we love about our work with Get It Loud In Libraries is obviously getting to see ace artists LIVE but more so, it’s the chance to help young people get on the ladder for future careers and provide exciting learning opportunities that would be hard to come across elsewhere.
